Exams<\/a> for Class 10 from 2026. Starting in 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that from the academic year 2026 onwards. As per the NEP-2020 and stakeholder consultations, CBSE has decided to implement the policy of two Board Examinations in Class X from 2026 examinations. This change is being implemented to emphasize flexibility and continuous assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because of this significant shift, millions of students would get a big advantage of performing better in academics and an opportunity to improve. This change is based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Such students can only take the exam next year in February.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students having the Compartment in the first exam can appear in the second exam under the Compartment Category only.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional subjects will not be permitted after passing Class X.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Scheme_for_Special_Category\"><\/span>Scheme for Special Category:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sports students are allowed to appear in the second examination for the subjects corresponding to their sports events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students from winter-bound schools have the option to take either the first or the second exam for the subjects they are enrolled in.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CWSN (Children With Special Needs) shall also apply in the second exam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"_Conduct_of_Internal_Assessment\"><\/span>&nbsp;Conduct of Internal Assessment:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Internal assessments shall be conducted only once before the main examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Schedule_of_the_Examinations\"><\/span>Schedule of the Examinations:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The first exam will begin in the middle of February<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The second examination is scheduled to take place in the month of May<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eligibility_Criteria_for_Appearing_in_the_Examinations\"><\/span>Eligibility Criteria for Appearing in the Examinations:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For main examination<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Fresh students of Class X can appear for the first main exam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Second Chance Compartment are eligible to appear too.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Essential Repeat of the previous year can appear for the first exam<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And Improvement student&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For second exam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Improvement category (up to 3 main subjects)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;First\/Third Chance Compartment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Compartment + Improvement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Improvement for passed students by subject replacement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Syllabus_and_Scheme_of_Examinations\"><\/span>Syllabus and Scheme of Examinations:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Both 1st and 2nd exams shall cover the full syllabus for the year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scheme of studies and examinations will remain the same.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"LOC_Submission_for_the_Examinations\"><\/span>LOC Submission for the Examinations:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Filling List of Candidates (LOC)&nbsp; and their appearance&nbsp; in the Main exam is mandatory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LOC for the second exam must be filled out separately.
